Q. I submitted a request on the Google Form, but never got a response to create my profile. Did you receive it?

A. 99.9% of the Google form submissions are processed within 2 days of receipt, so you should have received an email inviting you to fill out your author profile and set a dedicated password. Please check your spam folder, and if it’s not there or expired, please email us at info@promisepress.org to get a reset. Please do this at least 3 days before the sale, as submissions are cut off 3 days before a sale date.

Q. I need to edit a book I’ve already submitted. How do I do that?

A. Found a typo? Need to change your categories or add one? This video shows both how to edit your book’s entry and how to change which sale the book is offered in. If you need to change the link you’ve submitted, unfortunately, you will need to fill out the Submit a Book form again.

Q. How will I know if my book is approved?

A. Sadly, the free version of the software we’re using to manage sales has very limited features, so we’re not able to send you a confirmation email once your book is approved.

If something is up with your book, we will contact you. The most common reason is that someone forgot to add a sale date or a format tag to their book’s entry.

Q. What is the cut-off to submit a book?

A. 72 hours before the sale date. This is a hard deadline and will not be adjusted, so please make sure you have logged into your profile, added descriptions, links, covers, and tags.

Q. What discount should I apply to my book?

A. We know the level of discount you’re offering will depend on where readers are buying your book. Your link might go to Amazon/KU, where the royalty rate isn’t very good. Or it may go to your website, where your paperbacks or audiobooks give you a better royalty. So we suggest you set your discount according to what you can afford without taking a loss while considering what would appeal to readers.

However, the Cozy Sale team encourages authors to set a discount of at least 25% off. We’re building a reputation as being the premiere place for cozy fantasy sales with GREAT books at brilliant prices.

Q. What’s the best format for my banner/book cover so that looks good on my listing?

A. Your book is viewed in two ways: from the main sale listing as a thumbnail and when someone clicks on your book to read the description. The same image is used in both listings but different parts of the image are shown. To make sure your cover displays well in both places, create a banner that’s 2160 x 1131 pixels and put your book cover in the center of the banner. Example:

Q. What time does the sale go live?

A. The sale takes place over 24 hours starting at starting at midnight CDT (UTC -5).

Q. Help! The sale has gone live and the link for my book is wrong! What can I do?

A. Fill out the Submit a Book form again AND send an email to the staff at info@promisepress.org and we can approve it.
